In 1973, Field Communications took over a minority stake in Kaiser Broadcasting, but it wasn't until after its outright purchase by Field in 1978 that WKBS-TV changed its logo to the standard Field-styled branding. The station ceased its transmissions on August 30, 1983, when no suitable buyer emerged for the station after a nasty dispute over the operation of Field Communications between brothers Marshall Field V and Frederick W. Field resulted in the liquidation of their company, including their broadcasting interests. With the application of Dorothy Brunson by the FCC, nine years later the station was replaced to WGTW to start broadcasting with a new licence on August 13, and in 2004 it would be sold by TBN.
