In 1985, The TVX Broadcast Group purchased the station. In 1987, the station became the area's charter Fox affiliate.
1990–1993
WLFL was sold with the rest of TVX to Paramount Stations Group in 1991. The station was then sold to Sinclair Broadcast Group in 1994, but it remained a Fox affiliate.
1993–1995

1998–2003
In August 1998, the station became the area's affiliate for The WB as part of a group deal between the network and Sinclair. Previous WB affiliate WRAZ switched to Fox.
2003–2006
2006–present
In 2006, UPN and The WB merged to form The CW, which WLFL became an affiliate of.
