WMGC-FM made the switch to all-Sports Talk format at approximately 3:00 PM EDT on August 12, 2013, a switch that had been speculated for two years. It is the third station in the Detroit radio market to pick up ESPN Radio programming after WDFN and WCAR.

On July 1, 2016, WMGC dropped its sports talk format in favor of R&B and classic hip hop.
