Originally, the station was a translator of WPIX.
In 1995, the station branded as KTV airing KBS/Korean programming along with The Box during the day and on weekends.
In 2018, the call sign was changed to WNDT, which was once WNET's call sign from 1962 to 1970. Around that time, WNET became the new owner of WNDT. Before then, the station was briefly called WNCT-CD, lasting from March 15 to March 22.
