WPXO-LD was initially launched as W23BA, an independent station in 1993.
1996–1997[]

The channel was sold to Paxson Communications in 1996, who made it a translator for its Bridgeport, Connecticut station WHAI-TV, necessitating a logo change.
1997–1998[]

After Paxson acquired WPXN-TV to serve as its New York outlet, the company sold off WHAI and made W23BA a WPXN translator station.
1998–2005[]
This was used when PAX launched in 1998.
2005–2007[]
In 2005, PAX rebranded to i: Independent Television.
2007[]
2007–2012[]

WPXO-LD disaffiliated from Ion Television in 2007 and became a satellite of Miami-Fort Lauderdale stations WFUN-LD and WJAN-CD.

For a short time, WPXO - along with WJAN and WFUN - were affiliated with MundoFox (later called MundoMax).
2016–2023[]
After MundoMax ceased operations on November 30, 2016, WPXO, along with WFUN and WJAN, reverted to its pre-MundoFox branding.
2023–2024[]

On May 3, 2023, it was announced that WPXO would be sold to SagamoreHill Broadcasting for $405,000, due to the current owner being in debt. The deal was finalized in late 2023, and the station was converted to a Jewelry Television affiliate.
