The station launched on November 1, 1984 as WPRV-TV as an ABC affiliate being the first English-language station on the island to be on VHF.
1989-1992[]

In 1989, the station dropped ABC and switched to Fox. However, financial problems led to channel 13's shutdown in 1992.

In 1995, the station relaunched, now being owned by the Archdiocese of Puerto Rico and carrying a religious format.
