On March 9, 1980, WSFJ took the airwaves as an independent station.
1999–2005[]
In February 1999, WSFJ switched to Pax TV (now Ion Television).
2005–2007[]
On July 1, 2005, Pax TV became i: Independent Television. During that year, WSFJ began to phase out Pax/i programming in favor of family-friendly shows.
2007–2008[]
On January 29, 2007, the network rebranded to its current name.
2008–2018[]
In early 2008, WSFJ removed all Ion programming and became a Christian-oriented independent station. On October 1, it began carrying TBN.
2018–2019[]
On September 26, 2018, WSFJ switched to Ion Life after being acquired by Ion Media Networks the previous day.
2019–2021[]
On July 1, 2019, Ion Life rebranded to Ion Plus.
2021–2024[]
On February 28, 2021, Ion Plus ceased over-the-air operations; as a result, WSFJ began carrying Bounce TV as well as Grit on a new subchannel effective the next day. Grit was later replaced by Newsy (now Scripps News) in October.
2024[]
On May 5, 2024, Bounce TV and Scripps News swapped subchannels.
2024-present[]
After the closing of Scripps News, WSFJ returned to Ion for the first time in 16 years.
