In the 1990s, the West Virginia Educational Broadcasting Authority was moved to consolidate its PBS member stations in response to budget cuts. Utilizing a microwave link, WSWP and WNPB-TV effectively became repeaters of WPBY-TV, with the same presentation and program feed. The primary branding of all three stations was changed to "West Virginia Public Television" or WVPTV; however, the WSWP logo continued to see secondary use as a station ID.
