On September 22, 2021, WOIO and WUAB owner Gray Television announced that it would lanuch its first Telemundo network affiliate, which Ohio didn't have an exclusive Telemundo affiliate, which WQHS-DT became the first Spanish-language station in 2002. It also announced that it would launch its first Spanish-launguage newscast in Ohio, which WQHS-DT only airs news briefs. It officially launched on January 1, 2022.[1]
