In the 1990s, the West Virginia Educational Broadcasting Authority was moved to consolidate its PBS member stations in response to budget cuts. Utilizing a microwave link, WNPB and WSWP effectively became repeaters of WPBY, with the same presentation and program feed. The primary branding of all three stations was changed to "West Virginia Public Television" or WVPTV; however, the WPBY logo continued to see secondary use as a station ID.
