This logo for WWAY inspired the design of the logo and branding of fictional New York City TV station, WTRL 3, Channel 3 Eyewitness News. WTRL 3 was news anchorwoman April O'Neil's employer in the 1990 film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The news footage found throughout the film for WTRL was filmed at WWAY.
