The eye-ear logo that is used until now.


Time Warner 1990

Time Warner was created in 1990 through the merger of Time Inc. and Warner Communications. The original identity was created by Chermayeff & Geismar and included an eye-ear logo designed by Steff Geissbuhler.

The eye-ear logo is still used by Time Warner Cable.


Time Warner logo 90s

The eye-ear logo was shortlived as a corporate symbol. In 1993, it was replaced by a more reserved and traditional look. It was created by Anspach Grossman Portugal, although the Time Warner Cable logos retain the eye-ear logo.

AOL Time Warner


AOL Time Warner

In early 2000, Time Warner and AOL announced that they would merge. The deal was finalized in January 2001. The new company became known as AOL Time Warner. Landor Associates were responsible for designing the logo.

Time Warner (second era)


TimeWarner 2004

The company dropped AOL from its name in November 2002 and reverted back to Time Warner, alternating with the AOL Time Warner name until 2003. They did however not revert to the old Time Warner logo, opting for a new design.

"The new logo signals this is not the same company it was as the old Time Warner. We wanted it to be forward looking without coming up with some logo that had symbols or fireworks shooting out of it." - Time Warner Senior Vice President Edward Adler in October 2003

Lippincott Mercer were hired to created the new corporate identity.[3]
