Although Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Warner Bros. Animation's first theatrical feature film was a financial failure at the box office, it did lead to the launch of Warner Bros. Feature Animation, their original feature film division. Only six movies were made, and with the exception of Space Jam, the rest also flopped at the box office, closing the studio in 2004, until 2014, when WB Animation decided to launch Warner Animation Group with The Lego Movie, and it became a major hit at the box office.
