The Washington Football Team used the Boston Braves baseball team logo as well as the field for the 1932 season before moving to Fenway Park.

On July 13, 2020, the Washington Redskins announced they would be retiring the Redskins name and logo due to public and sponsor pressure, with many considering the nickname offensive towards Native Americans. During the 2020 and 2021 NFL seasons, the team will temporarily refer to itself as the Washington Football Team until they can secure trademark rights for their new name.
