Originally launched as a movie channel called Romance Classics in 1997, its main focus was romantic dramas and comedies, as well as television miniseries, airing commercial-free.

WE: Women's Entertainment

2001–2006

On January 1, 2001, the channel overhauled itself, renaming itself as WE: Women's Entertainment and competing directly against Lifetime.

We TV

2006–2011

In 2006, WE: Women's Entertainment was rebranded simply as We TV, and began its focus on reality shows.

2011–2014

In 2011, We TV rebranded once again.
