Wiener Städtische (also known as: Wiener Städtische Versicherung or just Wiener Städtische Versicherung AG Vienna Insurance Group) is the largest individual company in the international insurance group Vienna Insurance Group based in Vienna. Founded in 1824, it is one of the largest insurance companies in Austria with a market share of around 17.7 percent. Wiener Städtische is active in all lines (property/accident, life and health), both for private customers and in the commercial and corporate customer sectors.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I, the Vienna City Council decided in 1898 to found the "City Emperor Franz Joseph Jubilee Life and Pension Insurance Institution". This company name was changed to "Gemeinde Wien-Städtische Versicherungsanstalt" in 1919. Since then, the short form Wiener Städtische has been used. Business operations were expanded to include the non-life area.
