Project Café
2011 (pre-launch)
The Wii U was known as the Project Café during its pre-launch. It uses the same style from the Wii, Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi and Nintendo 3DS logos.
Wii U
2011 (E3 2011)
This logo was first shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011. It uses the same wordmark as the Wii logo, featuring a modified Horatio font[1] with a horizontally extended "W." The "ii," while resized to accommodate the changes found in the former character, remain unaltered.
2012–2017
The shade of blue found in the "U" portion was slightly changed for the release. It is now #009AC7 from the previous version's #00ACCA. Nintendo stopped making games for the Wii U, ending production in January 2017, but third party games are still being made for the system.
