AOL and Yahoo! merged in summer 2017. The new company was called Oath (stylized as Oath:). The rebrand affected the branding of all Yahoo! and AOL services. The basis of the new name was around the company's commitment to providing a range of diverse services without being a content aggregator.

On January 8, 2019, Verizon rebranded Oath as Verizon Media, initially using Verizon's 2015 logo and leaving the checkmark for their social media avatar.
April 2019–2021[]
On April 30, 2019, Verizon added the word Media under the logo.
Yahoo, Inc.[]
2021–present[]
On May 3, 2021, Verizon announced that they were selling Verizon Media to Apollo for five billion dollars, with Verizon still holding 10% of the company. The combined company would be called Yahoo, Inc.[1]. The deal was completed on September 1, 2021.[2]
