TV-kerho

On 1954, TV-kerho was founded in Helsinki University of Technology and the first wireless cable TV transmission in Finland took place on April 20, 1955. The logo seen above was used early on as a test card on 1956. TV-kerho is the forerunner of TES-TV and Tesvisio.

Tesvisio (at that time TES-TV) and Tamvisio are the forerunners of Yle TV2.

Beginning on 1959, TES-TV was established as limited company under the new name Oy Tesvisio Ab. The channel now named Tesvisio, adapted new logo shaped like a curved black television screen.

Tamvisio and Tesvisio were acquired to 1964 in Yle, but incorporated to 1965 as a TV-ohjelma 2. (Still, Tamvisio by consolidation and Tesvisio in 1964, Tesvisio was maintained for one year.).

After the foundation of the second channel "TV-ohjelma 2" on March 7, 1965, Yle used temporary idents for both two channels with simple oval and white lines on a dark background. It was then replaced on December 23, 1965.

The logo is based from the famous BBC2 '2' logo.

Introduced in 2002, the new text-based logo was featured alongside the channel's primary logo of its time. Since 2005, it was then used as the channel's logo bug.
