SVG NEEDED

This icon was used from iPhone OS 1 to iOS 5. The default YouTube app was removed in iOS 6. The service in that app was still functional until April 2015, when V2 of the YouTube Data API ceased to function.

2012–2013[]

After the default YouTube app was removed in iOS 6, the YouTube app from Google was available on the App Store since the release of iOS 6 in late 2012. This icon was used from version 1.0 to 2.0, on iOS 5 to iOS 7.0.6.

2013–2015[]

This icon was used from version 2.0 to 10.38, on iOS 7.1 to iOS 9, to coincide with the change with the new YouTube logo of December 2013.

2015–2017[]

In 2015, YouTube inversed the colors of the logo. This icon was used from version 10.38 to 12.32 on iOS 9 to 11.

2017–2024[]

In 2017, shortly after YouTube introduced its new logo, the iOS icon also followed suit afterwards by removing the shadows from the previous icon, as well as saturating the logo to be pure red (#FF0000). This icon was used from version 12.33 to 19.41.3 on iOS 11 through iOS 18.

2024–present[]

On June 7, 2024, YouTube soft-launched a new logo including a lighter wordmark and a pinker play button (#FF0033). The wordmark was also re-colored in pure black (#000000). It launched globally on October 22 through a website redesign and with version 19.42.1 of the app.
