Zantac was a brand name of the drug ranitidine sold from 1983 to 2020 by multiple pharmaceutical companies throughout its existence. In 2019, recalls for Zantac began following the discovery of a cancer-causing chemical in the drug. In April 2020, the United States Food and Drug Administration issued a full market withdrawal of Zantac and other similar drugs.
