Zee Talkies

Launched in 2007, Zee Talkies is a Marathi-language movie channel and the only one from a major commercial broadcaster. Its sole competitor is Shemaroo MarathiBana, launched in January 2020. A free-to-air sibling, Zee Chitramandir, was launched on 1 April 2021.

Previously, Maiboli and Fakt Marathi were also Marathi movie channels, but they have been repositioned as GECs (general entertainment channels).

Zee Talkies was launched on 25 August 2007.

2011–2016

Another new logo was introduced during a broadcaster-wide rebrand of the Zee network on 19 June 2011.

HD: October–December 2016

An HD feed was launched on 15 October 2016, a day before the rebrand of Zee Café, and exactly one year before Zee’s networkwide rebrand that took place on 15 October 2017. It was Zee’s first regional-language HD channel, and the third high-definition regional-language movie channel in India after KTV HD and Jalsha Movies HD.

Zee Marathi HD and Zee Bangla HD were launched a month later, on 20 November 2016, with other HD channels in South Indian languages following in due course.

January–October 2017

The gap in the top right corner of the Z was closed and the swoosh within it was modified. This was also done by all other Zee channels and properties.
